We, the new owners, were motivated to take over the 22 year old "bareboat" Nordic Tug Charters business, based on a very strong attraction to the Southeast Alaska area and all it offers those who enjoy boating. It is considered by many the most interesting and scenic cruising area in the World, with over 10,000 miles of coastline. It’s shorelines are home to the World’s highest concentrations of Bald Eagles, Brown Bears, Humpback Whales, and tidewater glaciers.
We were impressed by comments made about the quality and integrity of the folks who charter Nordic Tugs. To have established a business primarily upon “word-of-mouth” reflects volumes of charter cruising satisfaction.
We have constructed this interactive web site for reservations, information exchange, and package building. This should prove valuable to those wanting to customize their cruising experience.
Jim Clemmons has become an integral part of Nordic Tug Charters for the 2005 season as operational manager of the fleet. We also have the Nordic Tug dealership and invite those interested in owning a Nordic Tug to talk with us. Two additional third-party ownership/chartering investment opportunities may be available for the 2006 season. We will review this opportunity with those interested. There are tax benefits for qualified investors.
We look forward to building the fleet to meet the increasing interest in quality cruising throughout the Inside Passage waters of Southeast Alaska. Many add on packages and customized charter itineraries are being developed for all those who have requested their availability. Some of the package offerings for our bareboat charters will include but are not limited to:
Customized fishing gear package for salmon, halibut, crab, and shrimp, based on client’s stated desires.
Aluminum skiff w/motor.
U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and/or Biologist guided charter for those who want a real time learning experience.
Transportation from airport to harbor plus provisions shopping.
Bedding & Towel package.
We are also offering “flotilla charters” for groups who would like to share an experience like this. In addition to cruising on your own, itineraries are being designed specifically with flotilla groups in mind.

Our fleet will be built to accommodate the wishes of those who have chartered with us many times and also giving new customers a variety of charter trips and activities to choose from.
Some of the Package options come from our love of cruising, the lifetime memories we have experienced, and activities we have especially enjoyed. We want our customers and friends to have those same opportunities and to return many times for new adventures. A recent New Customer stated that he had “no idea” a trip such as this was even possible. Another customer, who has cruised Southeast Alaska waters for more than 20 years, said they could never see it all and every year is a new and exciting experience.
